About the National Day Holiday
Every year on October 1st, China celebrates National Day, marking the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. This special week, often called the Golden Week, is one of the country’s longest and most festive holidays.
Cities are decorated with red flags and flower displays, families reunite, and millions of people travel across the country to enjoy the start of autumn. It’s a time of celebration, reflection, and rest before the busy months ahead.
